Are there any alternative streaming services you recommend that will be available in South Africa?

While we regret the inconvenience, there is a suite of BBC branded channels on DStv providing an array of British content. In addition, several other streaming services are available in South Africa, such as Netflix, Showmax, and Amazon Prime Video, which offer a diverse range of content.

Will there be any changes to the content library or available features before BritBox leaves?

The available features and content library will largely remain the same before BritBox leaves South Africa.

Can I transfer my subscription to another region where the service will still be available?

Unfortunately, subscriptions cannot be transferred to regions where BritBox will continue to operate.

Are there any plans to reintroduce BritBox back in the future?

At this time, there are no plans to reintroduce BritBox in South Africa.

BritBox will notify subscribers on May 20, 2024, before officially ceasing operations in South Africa no later than August 30, 2024.

Are any special offers or promotions available for users affected by this change?

We recognize the impact of this decision on our subscribers. However, at this time, we do not have any plans to offer special promotions or discounts.

How will this decision impact partnerships with other platforms, like DSTV?

We will work closely with our partners, including DSTV, to manage the transition effectively and minimize any impact on our subscribers.

Will there be any limitations on accessing content or using features during the transition?

We aim to minimize disruptions during the transition period. Subscribers will have access to their accounts and content until the end of their final billing period, no later than August 30, 2024.

How will my final billing date be determined, and how long will I have to watch from that point?

Your final payment will occur on your regular billing date in the month preceding the closure, which is no later than August 30, 2024. The service will not auto-renew, and your last day for viewing will coincide with the end of that billing cycle.

For instance, if you are typically billed on the 15th of each month, your final charge will be on July 15, 2024, and you will retain access to BritBox until August 15, 2024. Following this, your subscription will terminate.
