Here are some common reasons a recipient cannot redeem a gift subscription:
They live in a region we do not support
They use Amazon Prime Video Channels, Apple (including Apple TV Channels), Google Play (including Android TV), or The Roku Channel for streaming (though if they want, the recipient can follow these simple instructions to use the gift)
They use a device BritBox is not compatible with streaming on
If your recipient cannot use their gift, don't hesitate to contact us at support@britbox.com. We can help you with options, including a refund.
Gift subscriptions don’t begin until they are redeemed by the recipient. This means you can purchase a gift subscription in advance and give it to someone at any time that works for you.
The recipient will have the flexibility to start their subscription whenever they’re ready, allowing them to enjoy their gift on their own schedule.
A credit card is needed to set up a BritBox account, but there are no additional charges for your gift subscription. Your credit card details will be encrypted and stored securely until your subscription is due to renew at the end of the gifted period.
If you prefer not to renew, you can cancel anytime (even on the same day you redeem your gift, if you want). You can continue watching until the end of your subscription.
If you’d like to check your renewal date, you can find the instructions in our Help Center article, "On what date will my subscription renew?"
Gift subscriptions in Denmark and Finland do not require a credit card.
